AI Video Data Collector – For Kitchen Restaurants & Cafe Staffs

We partner with a leading AI and robotics company to produce high-quality, large-scale egocentric (first-person) video datasets that help train advanced AI models.

What We Offer

This is a project-based independent contractor opportunity designed to provide supplemental income. 

• Earn USD $3.50 for every hour of approved video footage submitted.
• Compensation is based on approved video submissions, not hours worked.
• Videos are reviewed to ensure they meet Workstream's quality and project requirements before payment is approved.
• Payment schedules and submission guidelines will be shared during onboarding.

About the Role

Workstream is seeking individuals currently working in restaurants, commercial kitchens, cafes, bars, or catering operations to participate in a first-person video data collection project.

In this role, you will wear a lightweight head-mounted smartphone harness during your regular working shift to record your natural, hands-on tasks. The video footage you collect will be used to train and validate next-generation robotics systems, helping AI and autonomous robots learn real-world hand movements, object manipulation, and spatial awareness in food service environments.

This is a flexible, supplemental earning opportunity that allows you to earn extra income while performing your standard daily work routines.

What You Will Do

• Record first-person videos while performing your normal work tasks (no computer, screen-based, repetitive work).
• Use the camera equipment provided by Workstream.
• Follow recording, safety, and privacy guidelines.
• Obtain approval from Workstream and permission from your workplace before recording.
• Upload videos through Workstream's platform.
• Maintain recording equipment and apply feedback to improve future submissions.
• Meet the minimum target of 30 hours per week. 

Activities You May Record (Food & Beverage Settings)

You will film natural, continuous hands-on tasks in your workplace environment across any of the following areas:

• Food Prep & Kitchen Operations: Chopping, slicing, dicing, peeling, and portioning ingredients; assembling sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, or salad bowls; tending grills, fryers, flat tops, and ovens; plating completed dishes.
• Beverage & Barista Work: Grinding coffee beans, tamping espresso, steaming milk, pulling espresso shots, pouring tap beers, shaking/stirring cocktails, garnishing drinks, and dispensing fountain beverages.
• Tool, Utensil & Equipment Handling: Operating blenders, espresso machines, slicers, food processors, tongs, spatulas, ladles, strainers, and cocktail shakers.
• Container, Bottle & Storage Interaction: Opening/closing walk-in coolers, food tubs, condiment containers, syrup bottles, liquor bottles, squeeze bottles, and vacuum sealers; transferring liquids or dry ingredients between containers.
• Bus, Dishwashing & Sanitation: Clearing and wiping down dining tables, bar tops, and prep counters; sorting dirty dishware and glassware; operating commercial dishwashers; washing, drying, and stacking glasses/plates; sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.
• Inventory, Sorting & Restocking: Unboxing delivery crates, organizing stock shelves and walk-in refrigerators, arranging food pans, restocking cups/lids/napkins, and labeling prep containers.

What We're Looking For

• At least 18 years old
• Currently working in or have access to an approved commercial workplace
• Able to obtain permission from your workplace to record
• Comfortable wearing a head-mounted camera
• Able to follow instructions and quality standards
• Reliable internet for uploading videos
• Detail-oriented and responsive to feedback

Onboarding & Documentation Requirements

If you qualify to take part in the project, you will be required to complete onboarding verification before filming begins. This includes providing:

• A copy of a valid government-issued ID (required to secure and issue the camera equipment provided by Workstream)
• Signed consent and release forms to record in accordance with privacy and compliance guidelines.
