Privacy Technology Analyst

About the Company

Philtech is a premier offshore company in the Philippines providing exceptional IT services as its core operation and Non-IT shared services as its auxiliary operation, exclusively serving Albertsons Companies in the US — one of the largest food and drug retailers in the country.

About the Role

The Privacy Technology Analyst bridges the gap between legal, compliance, and engineering — ensuring that privacy is not an afterthought but a foundational element of how technology is built and operated. This role requires someone who thinks like an engineer, reasons like a compliance professional, and communicates like a consultant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Legal, IT, and Engineering teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into the architecture, development, and deployment of new and existing technology systems.
  • Conduct technical reviews of systems and platforms to assess the effectiveness of privacy controls, identifying gaps and recommending remediation measures.
  • Lead and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) across the organization, translating findings into actionable, forward-looking recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of internal privacy operations — streamlining workflows, automating manual processes, and reducing compliance risk through operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including privacy policies, standard operating procedures, data flow inventories, and due diligence records — ensuring alignment between documented and actual practices.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter resource during audits, vendor assessments, and cross-functional privacy reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in Information Technology, software development, cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — able to break down complex technical and regulatory challenges into structured, practical solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret software code (e.g., Python, Java, SQL, or similar); hands-on development experience is a strong advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical privacy concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a software developer, security engineer, or systems architect.
  • Working knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks, including one or more of: GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOX, or PII-related standards.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPT, or CIPM (or active pursuit of certification).
  • Familiarity with privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), data minimization techniques, or consent management platforms.
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, or similar).
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills — comfortable engaging with legal counsel, regulators, and senior leadership.
