Healthcare CSR – Job & Responsibilities

A Healthcare Customer Service Representative (CSR) assists patients, members, healthcare providers, or insurance customers with their healthcare-related concerns. The role focuses on providing accurate information, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle incoming calls, emails, or chats from patients and healthcare members.
• Assist with inquiries about health insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility.
• Explain billing, claims, payments, and account-related concerns.
• Help with appointments, referrals, authorizations, and provider information, depending on the account.
• Check and update customer or patient information in the system.
• Document every customer interaction accurately.
• Investigate and resolve customer concerns or escalate complex issues to the appropriate department.
• Protect confidential patient and healthcare information and follow privacy policies.
• Communicate clearly and professionally while showing empathy toward customers.
• Use multiple systems and basic computer applications while assisting customers.

Job Requirements

• College Graduate with or without experience
• Completed 2 years in college with 6mos customer service-related experience
• Above Average English communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good comprehension skills
• Basic knowledge with MS Office
• Willing to work on weekends and holidays
