A customer service representative (CSR) acts as the main link between a company and its clients by answering questions, resolving complaints, and processing orders. They communicate through phone calls, emails, live chats, and social media to make sure customers stay happy with the brand.


Key Responsibilities

  • Answering Inquiries: Respond to inbound phone calls, emails, and chat messages promptly.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot issues, handle returns or refunds, and fix billing errors.
  • Account Management: Update customer information and log details of every interaction into the system.

Escalating Issues: Pass complex or unresolved problems to a manager or a specialized department.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to speak or write politely to customers.
  • Empathy: Patience and a calm attitude when dealing with upset clients.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic ability to use office programs, typing tools, and CRM software.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required for entry-level hiring.
