JOB DESCRIPTION – PROJECT MANAGER (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)

Position: Project Manager – Mechanical Engineering

Department: Project Management / Engineering

Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and completion of mechanical engineering projects. The position ensures that projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage mechanical engineering projects from start to completion.
• Lead and supervise Project Engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and site personnel.
• Review approved plans, shop drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Develop project schedules, manpower requirements, and work plans.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of activities.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Ensure proper execution of HVAC, ducting, piping, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and other mechanical works, as applicable.
• Monitor project costs, materials, manpower, equipment, and other resources.
• Ensure that all mechanical works comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and Safety personnel to ensure quality and safe work practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
• Identify project risks, delays, technical issues, and manpower concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Review and approve work schedules, material requirements, and technical submissions.
• Monitor procurement and delivery of mechanical materials and equipment.
• Prepare and review progress reports, accomplishment reports, and other project documentation.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspection, and turnover activities.
• Manage project changes, variation orders, and additional works when required.
• Ensure proper documentation and project closeout.
• Perform other duties related to project management as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer (RME/PEME) preferred or required depending on project requirements.
• With proven experience in managing mechanical construction projects.
• Preferably with experience in HVAC, ducting, piping, plumbing, mechanical equipment, or MEPF projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction processes, plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• With leadership and team management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and project management software is an advantage.
• Willing to work on-site and travel to project locations when required.
