Job Description

Job Title: Bancassurance Officer

Department: Bancassurance / Partnerships Distribution

Reports to: Department Head

Area: NCR— all assigned bank branches and financial institution partner sites

Employment Type: Full-time, field-based

Position Summary

The Bancassurance Officer is the organization's face on the ground for its bank and financial institution partners across the assigned territory. The role drives retail insurance production through the bancassurance channel by working collaboratively with the partner organization's broker unit on policy issuance, joining Relationship Managers (RMs) in client meetings, ensuring premium payments are collected and accounts stay current, and continuously onboarding and engaging partner employees so they actively refer and sell.

This is a field-intensive, target-driven role. Success is measured by policy production from assigned branches, speed and quality of policy issuance, payment collection rates, and the number of activated, engaged partner frontliners across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Broker Coordination & Policy Issuance
  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact between the organization and the accredited broker for retail policy issuance.
  • Receive, review, and endorse policy applications and requirements from branches; ensure completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Maintain turnaround-time standards for issuance and proactively communicate status to the broker, branch, and client.
  • Coordinate endorsements, renewals, and cancellations with the broker and internal operations teams.

2. Joint Client Engagement with Partner RMs

  • Join Relationship Managers in client meetings to present insurance solutions, explain coverage, and support closing.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and benefit comparisons tailored to the client's needs ahead of meetings.
  • Handle client questions on coverage, exclusions, claims process, and payment options with clarity and professionalism.
  • Support after-sales servicing for clients: policy delivery, endorsement requests, and claims assistance referrals.
  • Build trusted relationships with branch managers and RMs so the organization becomes their default insurance partner.

3. Payment Follow-Up & Account Management

  • Monitor premium payments for all policies issued in the region; follow up on pending, lapsed, or overdue payments.
  • Coordinate with the partner institution, broker, and clients on payment arrangements, official receipts, and posting issues.
  • Track renewal due dates and drive on-time renewal payments to protect persistency.
  • Maintain an updated collections and production tracker; flag at-risk accounts to management early.

4. Partner Employee Onboarding, Training & Activation

  • Onboard newly assigned branches and financial institution partners: orient staff on products, processes, referral mechanics, and incentives.
  • Conduct regular product training, refreshers, and huddles for partner frontliners (RMs, branch staff, financial institution employees).
  • Drive referral activity through branch visits, engagement activities, recognition programs, and incentive campaign cascades.
  • Identify and develop key producers within branches who consistently deliver results; re-engage inactive branches.
  • Cross-sell to partner employees as a customer segment (employee programs, payroll-based offers) where permitted.

5. Regional Coverage & Performance Management

  • Own production targets for the assigned region: premium (GWP), policy count, activation rate, and persistency.
  • Build and execute a structured branch coverage plan — visit routing, frequency, and priority tiering across the territory.
  • Submit regular production, pipeline, and activity reports; present regional performance in business reviews.
  • Gather market and competitor intelligence from the field and feed insights back to Partnerships and Marketing.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, bancassurance rules, data privacy, and internal policies.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Gross Written Premium (GWP) and policy count vs. regional target
  • Policy issuance turnaround time and application completion rate
  • Premium collection rate and renewal persistency
  • Number of active/producing branches and trained partner frontliners
  • Branch visit coverage and joint client meetings conducted

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in bancassurance, insurance sales, or bank-based financial products distribution.
  • Experience working with or within a bank branch network is a strong advantage.
  • Non-life insurance background preferred; licensed or willing to be licensed as required by regulatory authorities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to win the trust of branch managers, RMs, and brokers.
  • Confident presenter and trainer for both small huddles and larger branch sessions.
  • Organized and persistent in follow-ups — ensuring issuance, requirements, and payments are handled efficiently.
  • Comfortable with trackers, reports, and basic sales analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to explain insurance concepts simply and clearly.

Attributes

  • Field-oriented and self-driven; comfortable spending most of the week in branches across the designated territory.
  • Service mindset with a sales focus — responsive to partners, persuasive with clients.
  • High integrity in handling client documents, payments, and confidential information.
  • Willing to travel daily within the assigned territory; a valid driver's license is an advantage.
