Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our project management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical and structural aspects of construction projects, ensuring that work is executed according to design specifications, safety regulations, and within the project timeline. You will act as the key link between the design team and the site execution team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Supervision & Execution

• Oversee all on-site civil engineering activities, including earthworks, structural frameworks, concrete pouring, finishing, and MEP coordination.
• Ensure that construction work complies with contract drawings, specifications, and approved method statements.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and coordinate with consultants to resolve technical discrepancies.

2. Quality Control & Compliance

• Implement and enforce strict quality control procedures to ensure structural integrity and high-quality finishes.
• Conduct regular site inspections, material tests (e.g., concrete slump, compressive strength), and maintain detailed inspection reports.
• Ensure all work complies with local building codes, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.

3. Project Management & Planning

• Assist in the preparation of look-ahead schedules, daily work plans, and resource allocation (labor, materials, equipment).
• Monitor project progress against the master schedule and report delays or risks to the Project Manager.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth workflow.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate daily logs, site records, and as-built drawings.
• Prepare progress reports, material approval requests, and inspection requests for the client and consultant.
• Manage variation orders and assist in quantity surveying tasks related to structural works.

5. Safety & Risk Management

• Promote a safety-first culture; ensure all site personnel adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Identify potential technical or site risks and propose mitigation solutions proactively.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum of [X] years of experience in civil engineering within the construction industry (experience in [specific sector, e.g., high-rise buildings, infrastructure, industrial] is preferred).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials (concrete, steel), and sequencing.
• Familiarity with local authority regulations (e.g., Municipality, Development Control) and international building codes (e.g., IBC, BS, or ACI).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage site teams and liaise with consultants.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Professional Engineer (PE) license, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Safety (OSHA/NEBOSH) is an advantage.
