Job description:

Basic Purpose

1.1 Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.

1.2 Generates concepts and develop projects in line the Services and Products Innovation Strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

Regular Duties

1.3 Develops project objectives by reviewing projects proposals and plans, conferring with management.

1.4 Determines project responsibilities y identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, reviewing bids from contractors.

1.5 Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards, completing technical studies, preparing cost estimates.

1.6 Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.

1.7 Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, sequencing project elements.

1.8 Maintains project schedule by monitoring projects progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems.

1.9 Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes, recommending actions.

1.10Controls project costs by approving expenditures, administering contractor contracts.

1.11Prepares project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trend, recommending actions.

1.12 Maintain project records and electronically file.

1.13 Ensures that all personnel and employee under his/her leadership/responsibility are provided appropriate direction, leadership, guidance, support, and training to enable the advancement of their knowledge and experience in the operations of the overall plant energy and related mechanical systems environment.

1.14Assumes responsibility for the performance of employees in the area of responsibility by spot checking work in the area, evaluating the quality of the work performed, and coordinating with the Section Manager and HR Manager to develop management tools to evaluate personnel and trade related performance.

1.15 Enforces Company rules and policies regarding employee conduct by advising all assigned employees about the Company’s rules and policies on employee conduct, issuing verbal warnings and written reprimands for violations, and recommending progressive disciplinary action to the Section Manager and HR Manager as necessary.

1.16 Facilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

2.0 Occasional Duties

2.1 Provide backup support to other groups in the organization.

2.2 Performs other duties that may be assigned by immediate superior.

3.0 Minimum Qualifications

3.1 Education

Relevant manufacturing/Engineering Degree is preferred (Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Graduate)

3.2 Experience

Proven 15 years of experience as a Project Engineering handling design and sustaining engineering activities

Proficiency in knowledge and application of design software.
