Job Description

The AutoCAD Operator is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans for solar PV installations, including rooftop and ground-mounted systems. The role supports the engineering, project management, and installation teams by producing accurate drawings used for permits, construction, and client presentations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D AutoCAD drawings for solar PV system layouts.
• Create roof layouts, panel layouts, single-line diagrams, and electrical drawings.
• Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.
• Assist engineers in system design and technical documentation.
• Revise drawings based on engineering markups and site measurements.
• Maintain organized drawing files and documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Installation Teams.
• Ensure drawings comply with local electrical codes and standards.
• Prepare drawings for submission to obtain permits and client approval.
• Perform basic solar system sizing/layout using provided data.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or related course.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D).
• Experience in solar PV drawings is an advantage.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings and single-line diagrams is a plus.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Can meet deadlines and handle multiple projects.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Helioscope, Aurora, or PVsyst is an advantage.
• At least 1–2 years of AutoCAD experience (solar industry preferred).
