Job Summary: The Baker is responsible for the preparation, production, baking, finishing, packing, and proper storage of breads, pastries, and other baked products produced at the Company's Commissary. The position ensures that all products are prepared consistently and according to established recipes, quality standards, production schedules, and food safety and sanitation requirements. The Baker is also expected to maintain cleanliness and organization within the baking and production area and assist in other commissary-related tasks as reasonably assigned by management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce breads, pastries, and other baked products according to approved recipes and production requirements.
  • Measure, weigh, and properly prepare ingredients according to established formulations.
  • Perform mixing, kneading, proofing, shaping, baking, cooling, and finishing processes as required.
  • Follow daily and weekly production schedules and ensure that required quantities are prepared on time.
  • Properly operate and handle ovens, mixers, proofers, weighing scales, and other baking equipment.
  • Properly store finished products and ingredients to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Follow all Company food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and handling procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, baking equipment, utensils, storage areas, and other assigned areas.
  • Properly handle, label, store, and rotate ingredients and finished products.
  • Follow proper FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures for ingredients and supplies.
  • Assist in checking and monitoring the availability of baking ingredients and supplies.
  • Report low-stock, damaged, expired, or unusable ingredients to the supervisor.
  • Assist in receiving, checking, and properly storing ingredients and supplies.
  • Assist with general kitchen and commissary operations as needed.
  • Perform other related duties that may reasonably be assigned by management.


Qualifications:

  • At least High School Graduate
  • With at least 6 months experience as baker and skilled in molding and shaping local bread products
  • Knowledge of basic baking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations
  • Ability to follow recipes, measurements, and production instructions accurately
  • Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays if required
  • Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
