The Senior Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing advanced mechanical and electrical issues, performing complex repairs, and providing technical leadership within the workshop. This role requires deep expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to guide and support a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues (engine, transmission, electrical, and computer systems)
• Oversee and support junior technicians; provide training and mentorship
• Review and verify repair work to ensure quality and safety standards
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and software
• Collaborate with service advisors to explain technical issues and repair options
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
• Assist in workflow planning and job prioritization
• Maintain accurate service records and reports

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic/technician
• Strong expertise in diagnostics, electrical systems, and major repairs
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members is an advantage
• ASE certification or equivalent (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
