Job Responsibilities

The Auto Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems of construction vehicles and heavy equipment. This includes wiring, lighting, battery systems, control modules, and electronic diagnostics. The role ensures equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards set by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

• Diagnose electrical faults in heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, dump trucks, loaders, generators).
• Repair and maintain wiring systems, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, and control units.
• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections on equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot issues.
• Install electrical components such as lighting systems, alarms, GPS, and control panels.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical manuals.
• Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and cleanliness of the work area.
• Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
• Coordinate with mechanics, operators, and supervisors regarding equipment status.

Requirements

• Technical or vocational diploma in Automotive Technology, Electrical Technology, or related field (TESDA preferred).
• TESDA National Certificate (NC II/III) in Automotive Servicing or Electrical Installation & Maintenance (preferred)
• Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH/COSH) training is an advantage
• At least 2–3 years of experience as an Auto Electrician, preferably in construction or heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license (preferred, depending on role)
• Knowledge of diesel engine electrical systems and electronic control systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding site conditions.
