WHAT ASSOCIATE LEGAL COUNSEL LOOK FORWARD TO DO WELL

Associate Legal Counsel is a junior or mid-level attorney in an organization's legal department. They assist senior counsel by providing legal advice, managing litigation, reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance, and mitigating legal risks while ensuring the company operates within the law.


What you will do:

  • Oversee all aspects of litigation, including preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Manage case calendars and deadlines, ensuring timely responses to court orders and legal requirements.
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and trials, effectively presenting the company’s position.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies using various legal databases.
  • Stay updated on relevant case law, statutes, and regulations impacting ongoing litigation or company operations.
  • Analyze case facts and legal issues to provide strategic recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to develop and implement effective case strategies, including risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, identifying potential legal risks in business operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all litigation activities, including case files, correspondence, and court documents.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management summarizing case status, potential risks, and recommended actions.
  • Work closely with other members of the Legal Division and cross-functional teams to address legal issues.
  • Ensure compliance with eTap's safety, security, and information security protocols.
  • Perform other job-related functions or duties as assigned

Requirement

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must hold a license to practice law.
  • At least 3 years litigation experience is preferred. 
  • Experience in handling cases: Labor, Corporate, Civil, and Intellectual Property
