Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting associate to manage the financial operations of Australian strata properties. The ideal candidate has experience in Australian accounting practices, excellent analytical skills, and a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and client service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly financial reports for strata corporations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including account reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile trust accounts in accordance with Australian strata regulations.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Respond to financial queries from property managers, committees, and clients.
• Maintain general ledgers, journals, and other accounting records.
• Process levy notices, monitor collections, and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and internal financial controls.
• Assist with Australian payroll processing, wage calculations, BAS preparation, and other taxation-related tasks, as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in Australian strata accounting, property accounting, or a similar accounting role.
• Experience with Australian taxation, BAS preparation, payroll processing, and wage calculations.
• Knowledge of trust accounting and Australian strata legislation is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Strata Master, StrataMax, MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
