An accounting supervisor directs daily accounting

operations, manages the accounting team, and ensures financial accuracy and

regulatory compliance. They oversee general ledger maintenance, accounts

payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end closes. This role is vital for

generating financial reports and maintaining internal controls

Responsibilities

  Team Leadership:

Manage, train, and evaluate staff accountants and clerks. Assign daily

workloads and track performance against departmental objectives.

  Financial

Reporting: Review journal entries, reconciliations, and prepare accurate

monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  Month-End &

Year-End Close: Ensure all closing activities, accruals, and deferrals are

completed accurately and on schedule.

  Compliance &

Audits: Ensure accounting practices comply with local regulations (e.g.,

BIR and PEZA in the Philippines). Act as the primary liaison for external

auditors.

  Internal

Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and

procedures to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risks. [1,

Analysis: Assist management in developing budgets, forecasting revenues,

and analyzing budget variances
