The Accountant with collections experience will be responsible for managing financial transactions, overseeing collections processes, and ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial data. Your expertise in collections and background in the fuel, oil, or logistics sectors will be critical in maintaining smooth financial operations and optimizing cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collections Management: Oversee and manage the collections process, including tracking outstanding invoices, contacting clients for payment, and negotiating payment terms. Ensure timely resolution of overdue accounts and maintain detailed records of all collection activities.
• Financial Record-Keeping: Perform accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including accounts receivable and payable. Reconcile accounts and maintain financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including aging reports, cash flow statements, and collection metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to improve collections performance and financial management.
• Client Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients to facilitate timely payments and resolve any billing disputes or issues. Communicate effectively with clients to address payment concerns and negotiate payment plans if necessary.
• Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales and logistics, to ensure accurate invoicing and timely collections. Collaborate with the finance team to support budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as an accountant with a strong background in collections, preferably within the fuel, oil, or logistics industries.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Proven experience in managing collections and resolving account discrepancies.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word). Experience with industry-specific financial systems is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle complex financial issues and negotiate effectively with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
