About the company
BreadTalk Global
BreadTalk, a Singaporean lifestyle brand that has gained international appeal, is widely credited for taking the bread and bakery industry to new heights. Its introduction of the Flosss® bun propelled the brand into consumers' minds and since opening in 2000, BreadTalk has continued to churn out exciting products and offer a unique shopping experience for its customers.
Emphasizing its boutique bakery concept, each BreadTalk store is literally a bread shopping haven where each product tells a story. Be it a chef's or baker's own inspiration, the workings of politics or society's trends, BreadTalk's 'Earthquake Cheese', 'Mr. Beans', 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Bacon' are just some of the breads that have brought real stories to life. Youthful names and designs, the store's clean lines, and BreadTalk's open kitchen all come together for a fun and sophisticated experience.
Over its twelve years of operations in Singapore, BreadTalk has been recognized as Singapore's Most Promising Brand, Most Popular Brand and Most Distinctive Brand. Most recently, in the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (SPBA) held in December 2011, BreadTalk was judged Overall Category Winner for Most Popular Regional Brand and was also voted Most Popular Regional Brand by consumers. The brand has taken its success around the world, now having nearly 400 stores in Singapore, China (Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing), Indonesia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Hong Kong, India, Thailand, South Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Filipino bread lovers got the surprise of their lives when BreadTalk was formally launched in the Philippines in 2004.
The first BreadTalk store opened in May 2004 at Glorietta 4, Ayala Center. With a global staff strength of 7,000 employees, the Group operates more than 870 bakeries, 27 internationally acclaimed Din Tai Fung restaurants in Singapore and Thailand, as well as 53 award-winning Food Republic food atria in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. To further its market, today, BreadTalk Philippines is still expanding as they still aim to open more branches in the provinces and in key locations in Metro Manila.
BreadTalk Philippines
BreadTalk Philippines has taken the Group's signature breads and lifestyle shopping concept and infused its unique local character into the brand. It has brought to life its own Filipino stories and inspirations in the likes of the 'Sumo Pandesal', 'Cheezymada', 'Sisig Bun', and 'Cheese Flosss'. Friends and fans in the Philippines have quickly taken to this modern way of retailing bread and constantly await BreadTalk's new creations.
In 2010, BreadTalk Philippines acquired the license for Sanrio character favorites Hello Kitty, Kerokerokeroppi, Bad Badtz-Maru, and Cinnamoroll, and in its signature style, now retails Sanrio cakes with the BreadTalk twist.
