OUR STORY AMWSLAI started as a paluwagan by a cadre of visionary officers, enlisted personnel and civilian employees of The 410th Air Materiel Wing of the Philippine Air Force. No one saw that a small savings program paved the way to the creation of an industry in the Philippine economy. No one thought that AMWSLAI will be leading voice in the passing of Republic Act 8367 or the law that established Savings and Loan Associations to provide relief to the marginalized sectors. No one, in their wildest dreams, envisioned that a Paluwagan will be a 25-billion worth financial institution. Now on its 68th year, AMWSLAI has transformed into one of the most admired financial institutions in the Philippines from the lowly paluwagan more than six decades ago. AMWSLAI became a quintessential institution of stability and progress ever since - one that embodies the Bayanihan spirit and self-help vehicle in its purest form.
